Read through our list of FAQs so you can be sure to make the most of your sail.
Get in touch with us if you have additional questions.
Where do we go for our sail?
Your excursions are just that… yours. Of course we have multiple options for itineraries for those who may not know the area that well or more interested in seeing a variety of sights rather than a few specific. The Captain and crew will make recommendations depending on the weather, wind, and water day of, but will always do their best to cater to what you want to do!
What do I need to bring?
We provide for you non alcoholic beverages, all safety gear, and plenty of fun. We recommend bringing sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and of course, cameras. Dress for the weather, plus a breeze. Being out on the water can definitely feel a bit cooler than on land. We prefer you relax barefoot, but if you’d like to wear shoes we ask that they are a light colored sole. Feel free to bring any additional beverages or snacks you may like while on the water.
All of our excursions begin and end at the Charleston City Marina. The city marina is located at 17 Lockwood Drive in Charleston, within walking distance to downtown shopping, dining, and historic Charleston sights. About a mile north of the battery, and right off of hwy 17. Parking, showers, and laundry can all be found at the marina should you need, as well as a variety store, package store, and restaurant.
Where do we board?
We are USCG regulated for up to 6 passengers at a time. This provides a more intimate excursion for you and your family or friends. Our rates are based on the half day, full day, sunsets, and longer excursions and we charge by the boat. This means you can reserve an excursion for just you and a close friend, or have your whole family come along!
Do you charge per person?
Is it okay to tip the captain?
Of course. Your Captain and crew work hard before, during, and after your excursion to ensure your return! If you have a great time, most certainly show your Captain and crew that you did.
Should I reserve in advance?
It is highly recommended. You can find a schedule and contact information on the site, and call or email with any questions about availability. In some instances, day of reservations are possible, but the likely hood of short notice availability is rare.
Our biggest question when it comes to cancellation relates to weather. Keep in mind that South Carolina weather changes very quickly on the coast. If a light rain starts the day, you can almost be positive a bright sun will end it. Any weather cancellations are at the discretion of the Captain. These are not limited to rain or shine, but include wind and current as well. Be aware that we do take a credit card to hold your reservation when it is made, but do not charge until day of. We require a non refundable 50% deposit upon booking, and a 48 hour cancellation notice. (72 hours for BnB)
